OUR STORY
1st Generation Family Farm
We are a small Family Farm located in Cecil, OH. Established in 2018 when my wife (Loni) and I (Tanner) purchased a small farm and farmhouse outside of our hometown of Antwerp, Ohio. Our goal is to raise and sell healthy, natural, pasture-raised meat for our family and local communities, all while sharing our farm lifestyle and adventures.
ABOUT COPSEY FARMS
My wife Loni and I (Tanner) were high school sweethearts who married in October of 2017. We both grew up in a country setting and shared the dream of one day owning our own farm. In September of 2018 Loni and I were blessed to purchase an old farmhouse on a small piece of land just outside our hometown of Antwerp, Ohio.
Remodeling on the house began right away as we were excited to add our touch and create our dream farmhouse. The remodeling process continues to exist and will be an ongoing project for years to come. (You will be hearing more about the renovation on our blog.) Not long after the purchase of our farm, we acquired seven laying hens from a friend. One thing led to another and we ended up with a total of 12 laying hens and a rooster. In July of 2019 another one of my wife's dreams came true when we purchased 2 Nigerian Dwarf goats, Leo and Lucy. Over the last year we have become more comfortable with raising farm animals and want to continue to expand our small family farm.
In late 2019 we were ecstatic to learn that our farm staff would be growing by one. In the months leading up to the birth of our daughter Loni and I, like most new parents, thought and worried about what type of life we would be able to provide for her. We wanted to exemplify a healthy, active lifestyle for our daughter to learn and grow from. This sparked into an idea of naturally raising our own meat on the pasture right here on our farm. We hope this adventure continues to grow and we are able to provide natural, healthy meat options for our family and local communities for many years to come.
FARM FRESH & PASTURE RAISED
Our chickens are raised naturally, out in the sun and on green grass. On top of being pasture raised our chickens are also fed Kraut Creek Natural Feed which is a certified non-gmo feed. Kraut Creek is grown and milled right here in our home state of Ohio on a family farm. We are committed to providing natural, healthy meat to our family and local communities.
